A Speck In Time

Today I took my oldest daughter to youth group for the first time.  It was a very bitter-sweet moment for me.  So beautiful to see her grow and blossom into a young lady yet amazed at how the years seem to have flown by.  I have spent most of the day thinking back over the past twelve years as well as thinking ahead at this new chapter in our lives, and in my daughter's life.  As I was thinking, something that my sweet sister said just this week struck me.  I remember thinking wow when she said it, but today when it hit me I really said a big wow.  She said our lives, whether they are 50 years or 80 years or however long God blesses us to be here, are nothing but a small speck compared to eternity.  Wow!  We can live to be 100 years old and now may think that is a long life, but it is truly nothing as to living an eternity

The only question is where will you spend that eternity?  I know that I want to spend eternity sitting on my Father's lap wrapped in His loving arms.  I want to hear Him say to me, "Well done thou good and faithful servant."  I want to worship at His feet.  I want to praise His name.  I want to stand in awe of His presence.  So, my dear friends, where do you want to spend your eternity?  Are you living this "speck in time" working for your eternal goal?

  1. When I remember that everything I work so hard for or worry so much about is just temporal it really changes my attitude and behavior. I need to be working towards things that will last. I want to keep my eyes fixed firmly on Jesus.

  2. Amen! If we could only truly realize just how temporary this life is!

Thank you for stopping by and leaving your thoughts, I love hearing from you.
