Worry or Worship

I have shared with you some of my struggles lately.  Even through my struggles I try to keep my focus on Christ and worship Him despite the circumstances.  But yesterday, I failed.  Something happened that was beyond my control and I was upset.  I cried.  I was angry.  I was hurt.  I even told God, I am trying so hard, why is this so bad!  Why did I get so upset?  Because I was worrying instead of worshipping.

Just as we have a choice of what to wear each day or what to eat at dinner time, we have a choice to worry or worship.  We can let our circumstances get us down and we can worry about what is going to happen.  But what good will that actually do?  Worrying gets us nowhere fast.  Worshipping, on the other hand, gets us somewhere...God's presence.

"If that is how God clothes the grass of the fields, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will He not much more clothe you, o you of little faith?  So do not worry saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?'" Matthew 6:30-31

"And my God will meet all your needs according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:19

God promises to provide for us.  His way of providing may not be what we expect.  But we can trust that He will provide for us in His timing and in His way.  He tells us in His word not to worry about what we will eat or drink or wear.  We need to have faith in our Savior.

Lysa TerKeurst says, "I thank Him for the empty places for they remind me that only He has the ability to completely fill me."  So true.  God created us.  He knows how to perfectly fill us and provide for us.  We have absolutely no reason to worry.  We have every reason to worship.

Friends, let's choose to worship Christ regardless of what is going on in our lives.  Let's trust Christ to provide for us according to His glorious riches.  Let's leave worry behind and worship Him completely.

  1. All I can say is 'WOW.' What a wonderful reminder!! Thanks for the post.

  2. So very true, but sometimes so very hard. We have to make that choice to worship even when we don't understand.

  3. I love this, thank you. I will choose to worship today and every day!

Thank you for stopping by and leaving your thoughts, I love hearing from you.
