One Word 2015 {MONTHLY UPDATE - DECEMBER}

Today, I will share my final update for my One Word 2015. I am excited to begin my new One Word for 2016. As a matter of fact, I have already begun! I am taking a short blogging break for the holidays but will be back in the New Year with my brand new word!

One year ago I chose my One Word to focus on in 2015. My word? Water.

Here is my final update on 2015's word, water:

1) Drinking water - My goal was to drink 80-100 ounces of water a day and to only have soda on the weekends. I began using the app, Waterlogged. Love the app, but I have failed to use it lately. I am trying to decide if I want to keep the app or just remember on my own. I had ups and downs all year long. I typically drink 80 ounces of water a day. However, I have soda most days. I still take my Tervis tumbler every where I go filled with water. I will keep up with the 80-100 ounces of water a day, but I am hoping to work on the soda, going back to only drinking it on the weekends.

2) Living Water - My goal was to have regular quiet time each morning, then a short Bible study time in the afternoon using either the She Reads Truth or Women Living Well plans, then a short Bible study at bedtime using Duck Commands Devotional and Money Saving Mom's Gratitude Journal. I did have times when I missed, but for the most part, I stuck with these goals and learned from them. Pausing before bed each night to write down 1 thing I am thankful for was a great way to reflect on my day and remember to find the blessings in all things. By having 3 different Bible study times throughout the day, it helped me to be in the Word more and focus on God more than I ever have. This has definitely become something special to me that I will keep up.

So that's my update! Now share yours! How did you do in 2015 with your One Word or goals? Share your experiences, good and bad, in the comments. I love hearing from you.

  1. I just learned about one word a few months ago and was intrigued. After prayer and contemplation my word for 2016 is Joy. I am on a quest to find joy daily.
