I have never personally visited the Holy Land, however, my parents and grandparents have. I loved hearing their stories and seeing their pictures. Everyone always says that once you visit the Holy Land, you will read the Bible in a new light.

Because I have never been to the Holy Land, I love the new Holy Land Illustrated Bible! This Bible is a visual exploration of the people, places, and things of the Word. The book-specific introductions provide the setting and circumstances of writing for each book, and every image includes a descriptive caption to help better understand what is pictured.

  1. I think I'm going with the book of John as it makes it clear who Jesus is, that he is God, and not just a man and that is the key to heaven when we believe in Him!

  2. I like the Book of Philippians. Phil. 4:4-9 NIV 4 Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! 5 Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. 6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

    8 Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. 9 Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.

  3. I like the book of Proverbs a lot. My Mother would love to have this Bible.

  4. Matthew. I just like the writing style better, and Chapter 24 really speaks to me. We are studying Matthew at church right now...
