What Are You Radical For?

In my current devotional the author asks this question, "We fight to the death for something we want to protect, believe in or desire.  So why would we be lackadaisical about the most eternally significant relationship there is?"  Ouch!  We protect our friendships no matter the cost.  We fight for animal rights and recycling (very important issues, yes).  We even fight for our favorite celebrity on reality tv.  But are we that passionate about our relationship with Christ?

A few years ago while doing school work, we studied what not recycling can do to the environment.  This really struck our family, especially my youngest daughter.  We went out and bought several recycling bins and my daughter very closely monitors what we trash.  With her around, we dare not trash a recyclable.  But are with this passionate with our walk with God?

Many people watch reality shows where you have to vote to keep your favorite person on.  So many people not only watch religiously, but vote as many times as they possibly can.  They facebook about it and talk for days about who was voted off.  Are we that radical for God?

Our relationship with Christ is the most important thing ever.  Not only does accepting Christ into our hearts and living for Him get us to Heaven, but it changes our life on earth.  We can ask Christ to forgive us of our sins, go to church each week, try our best to follow the Ten Commandments and be good people.  We can have that promise of Heaven.  But why let it stop there?  We should be passionate about our walk with Him.  We should be radical and sold out for Christ.  I feel like I keep repeating myself over and over in my time with God and to friends, but I just do not want to be satisfied.  A Sunday morning Christianity is just not enough for me.  I want more!  I will keep saying it, I want more!  I want more of God.  More of His touch.  More of Him in my every day life.  I refuse to become lackadaisical in my walk.  I know yesterday I challenged you to press in, but I want to put that challenge back out there today.  Friends, do not stop.  Keep pressing in and seeking more and more of Christ.  Let's become completely radical for God!

  2. There used to be a song that said something about being a 'super Christian' I think. It is quite old and I can't remember exactly what the phrase was but I can tell you, I want to be a completely sold out, on fire Christian. I want the world to look at me and say, "Man, I need (want) what she has!"

We live in a world that is lacadaisical in just about everything we do. I refuse to be this way with Jesus!!!
