Ordered Steps

"The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD, and He delights in his way." Psalm 37:23

"Direct my steps by Your word, and let no iniquity have dominion over me." Psalm 119:133

Have you ever prayed that God would order your steps?  I have.  "God I am doing something new here, please order my steps."  "God I am unsure where to go, please order my steps."  Many of us pray that God would 'order our steps' or lead us.  We want God to lead us where He wants us to go.  We want God to direct us in what to do.  We need help in our marriage, job, ministry, finances, raising our children and so on.  So we pray and ask God to lead us.  But are we willing to go or do as He says?

Do not ask God to order your steps if you are not willing to move your feet!

If we have no intention or desire to move when God says move, then why pray for Him to guide us?  If we ask God to reveal to us what He wants, but we are not fully willing to say yes, why pray the revelation?  When you ask God to lead you, guide you or order your steps, be willing and ready to go.

  2. That's powerful! We can't ask Him to direct us if we aren't willing to move - to take the first steps.

  3. In my church we sang a song called Order My Steps by the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir and I must say when I hear the words of this song it brings tears to my eyes. Because we must have Christ order our steps otherwise we end up in wrong places. Great post
