"How long, O Lord, must I call for help, but You do not listen?" Habakkuk 1:2
Habakkuk saw so much violence going on around him and he cried out to God for help. He prayed and asked God to come down and change it. But he felt like God was not listening to him.
We pray asking God to bring salvation to a loved one, to change our financial situation, or heal our body. If we do not see immediate results we think God is not listening. Why is that?
"Never will I leave you, never will I forsake you." Hebrews 13:5
God promises to be there. We have no reason to doubt Him. We can not see all that God is doing and will do. But we can be assured that He knows best and will do the right thing for us. After you lift a request to God, keep your eyes fixed on Him and your faith firm in Him. He will do the best thing for you.
"Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior." Habakkuk 3:18

Thank you for this...I'm waiting on God for some things as you know...some days it seems hopeless and i'm just so tired other days are full of joy and peace and God's love...strength will rise as we wait on God. :-)
ReplyDeleteBecause our time is not the same as God's we have a tendency to wonder why God is not answering our prayers. Like you said if we just lift it up to Him and keep our eyes fixed on Him, we will see the results and He will do what is best for us. He knows!! Thanks for for a great post.
ReplyDeleteI really love the book of Habakkuk. There is alot to take away from an OT book! This reminds me of Is. 49 where it says God would never leave or forsake us, "would a mother forget about her nursing child?" For all us mammas out there we know there is no getting away from a nursing baby...just like his love for us--there is just no getting away from it!:) Love being bloggy friends with ya!
ReplyDeleteDeane is right - God's time is not the same as ours. We know how a persistent child will keep asking and asking - we are to be like that with God. We can trust that He will never leave us and that His way is best.
ReplyDeleteSometimes it's difficult as the limited beings that we are, to understand that not only are we not on God's Timeline, but that everything happens by His Plan, not ours. He knows what's best for His Children, and our Faith in His Choices are the key to a closer relationship with Him. Thank you so much for this post Jenifer, and Have a Blessed Day!
ReplyDeleteIt's easy to get frustrated in the waiting, I know, but I agree the best thing to do is to stay fixed on Him because you never know how or when His answers will come. Sometimes they're not the answers we'd hoped for, but they are still His best for us! Thanks for another encouraging post!
