Praying For Unsaved Friends

Do you have a friend who is not saved?  Maybe a neighbor or relative?  Most likely, we all do.  Are you praying for those friends?  Witnessing to them?  Do you stand up for what you believe in or is it easy to just let things slide by so to not offend them or ruffle the feathers?

We should always live out our faith, even with our unsaved friends and loved ones.  Our relationship with God should never waiver just to hang out with those that do not know Him.

"Let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in Heaven."  Matthew 5:16

Pray and ask God to help you be a good friend.  Ask God to help you stand up for what is right and let your light shine.  I want those that know me to know beyond a shadow of a doubt that I am a Christian.  I want them to look at me and see Christ.  Ask God to help you show the truth to them in love and help you to be a gentle witness.

"The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, and he who wins souls is wise."  Proverbs 11:30

We should also pray that God will turn the hearts of our friends to Him.  That their hearts would be softened to the things of Christ.  Pray that God would put other Christians in their path to also be a witness to them.

Another thing we need to pray about is that God would give us discernment and wisdom in dealing with unsaved friends.  We should be a witness to them and show them a Godly life, but we also need to separate ourselves from any ungodly influence.  Let God lead you in how to still be a friend yet be separate.

We all want to see our family and friends in Heaven with us, so we need to keep them in prayer daily.  Lift them up to God and show them the love of Christ.

Sweet Blessings~

  2. My heart goes out to all of the ones that are lost. We must always pray for them. Sometimes God has us plant the seed and someone else waters it. The way the Lord works is so wonderful. Thank you a great post, we all need to be reminded about things and this is one of them.

  3. Thank you for this reminder that we are to pray for lost loved ones. God desires that all come to know Him. That should be our desire too. God doesn't give up on us; we shouldn't give up on anyone else. Wow and ouch!

  5. Its hard sometimes not to give up on our insaved friends when we continually invite them to church and feel the sting of rejection every time. Praying for others salvation is very important and cant give up on them. I find too with a busy schedule and small children, I only have time for a few friends. I love to be with my Jesus girls because they encourage me-but we do need to enegage in those who dont know the Lord, after all thats why were here!:) Merry Christmas!

  8. It's difficult sometimes with the unsaved. Sometimes all we can do is pray. I know with my mom, she is offended any time I even say the name "God" and that is really hard for me because He is all my life is about. Sometimes praying and ministering in love is all we can do. It's really up to Him to open their hearts to receive truth, so I try not to take it personally when I am rejected. Thank you for another great post!

  9. Ron, I have visted your blog before and love it! You always encourage me. :)

It is difficult not to give up on our unsaved friends and family that ignore us and even become offended when we speak of Christ. But we must press on. The thought of my loved ones not making it to Heaven hurts my heart! Remember, God's Word will never return void. Every time you mention Christ or pray for them, a seed is being planted.

    Blessings Friends!
