God Is So Awesome!

Lately I have been reading in the book of Job.  What I read today really struck me and moved me to tears, nothing to do with Job, but of how amazing God is.  Job had been complaining of the things that had happened to him.  He never denied God but he did complain.  Today God spoke to him.

"Who keeps the sea inside its boundaries as it bursts from its womb, and as I clothed it with clouds and wrapped it in thick darkness. For I locked it behind barred gates, limiting it to shores.  I said, 'This far and no farther will you come.  Here your proud waves must stop!" Job 38:8-11

"Can you direct the movement of the stars - binding the cluster of the Pleiadies or loosing the cords of Orion?" Job 38:31

"Can you shout to the clouds and make it rain?" Job 38:34

Of course Job can not do any of those things and neither can we.  But God can. God is just so incredible and I am sitting here in awe of how awesome He really is.  He is The Creator of all.

Job's response to how incredible God is was this, "I am nothing-how could I ever find the answers?  I will cover my mouth with my hand.  I have said too much already.  I have nothing more to say." Job 40:4-5

Friends, today just praise God for how good He really is.  I pray you have a wonderful weekend.

Sweet Blessings~

  4. God's power is so far outside our understanding that it makes it difficult sometimes to wrap our limited minds around that concept. Isn't it wonderful to be Children of so amazing a Father? :-)

    Have a Blessed Day Jenifer!

  6. Oh my yes! And how incredible is it that the Creator of the Heavens and the Earth should desire an intimate relationship with us puny little humans? Pretty mind blowing I would say!

  8. I loved reading this and I love when bloggers aren't afraid to voice their feeling about God. I was teaching a church class for kids last week and explaining to them how great and infinite God's power is and they couldn't believe it! I love the story of Job as well. One of my favorites!
