Searching

This week I received a new cell phone (was due for a free upgrade with the company) and a new laptop (my 'spoil me' from tax money).  They are great.  It amazes me how fast the laptop is and how cool the phone is.  I have never had a new computer and technology is ever changing that it is taking me a long time to figure this machine out.  It is very different from all of my previous computers.  My phone is great.  Again, I have never had a phone like this (one of those touch screens) so that is really taking me a long time.  Apparently I set the drive smart thing, without knowing it.  It sent my calls straight to voice mail.  I can not get them!  The way to go to voice mail on my other cell is total different.  I was sitting here playing with my phone trying to figure it out, searching for the way to do things when it hit me, "Read the instruction manual."

So many times we do that in life.  We try to go through life searching what we need to survive.  We need to read the instruction manual.  We need to search God.  The Bible is our instruction manual for marriage, parenting, relationships, life in general.

We always hear that we should read the instructions first, not just when we can't figure things out.  Well, I want to learn to turn to God and His Word first, not just when life is not going my way.  Let's search God and His Word!  Have a blessed weekend friends.

Sweet Blessings~

  1. I believe people forget that the Bible is our instructions. The Word of God tells us about God and about how we should live our lives. It also tells us that we can go to the Lord anytime, we don't have to wait. When we call to the Lord our call will never go to 'voice mail' He is right there. Thanks for a wonderful post and the reminder to always go to the 'instructions.' Have a great day and I pray you get to all your voice mails. Blessing to you always, Jenifer.

  2. Great analogy! "We need to read the instruction manual. We need to search God." So often in my life I have tried to "do life" without reading the instruction manual. Its only been since I began reading it like it was the last oxygen mask on a crashing plane that I have had any success in my life. Great reminder that the Word is Truth and it is our Life...

  3. I tried life my way without using THE instruction manual that He left for me. Wrong choice! I got lost really quickly! Learned lessons the hard way and from now on it is His way only!

  4. I preach to Kidz Klub all the time that the Bible, God's Holy Word, is our instruction manual. It is our guide for life! I am so glad that God gave it to us. Imagine going through this life with no instruction or guidance! Not me! I've done it without the instructions...I'll not make that mistake again!!!

I just posted last night about "living out His word in real life" and admitting that it is sometimes hard to know how to do it.
    Glad to connect with you!
