A Thought To Start The Week...

Yesterday we had new missionaries, Tyler and Elina Charvat, visiting our church.  I was really encouraged by their vision and drive for the missions.  I believe God has great things planned for them in east Germany.  Check out their website for more information on their ministry or to donate to help them get started.

Something that Tyler said really struck me.

"What if everyone in this church were like you?  What if they all had the same attendance record you did?  Would church be open every single week or maybe just once a month?  Would the financial obligations always be meet because everyone tithed and gave offering faithfully or would the church not be able to pay it's bills?  Would everyone read their Bible and pray daily or just sometimes?"

So, I ask you these questions.  If everyone met with God like you do, would it be daily or just whenever you found an extra few minutes?  Would the church be financially covered with your tithe and offering or would the church be struggling?  Would the doors be open regularly or just sometimes?

Are we giving our all to our Savior?  Am I giving my all to my Savior?  Just a thought to start the week.

Sweet Blessings~

Today is the launch of Woman to Woman and I am writing a Marriage Monday.  Please take a moment to check it out.

  1. Thank you for this reminder. I love going to church but I don't go as often as I should. It is a must for Sunday School and Church on Sundays but the other days are questionalbe. Tithing is a must because we want to tithe and we do it with joy, so it is a must because we want to. This is a thought provoking post and something everyone should think about. Thanks, blessings to you, and love you.

  2. Tyler's comment really struck me too. What if everyone was like me. Would the world better or worse? What about the church? Would it function as it should if everyone was just like me? Really something to think about. Thanks for posting this.

  3. This is actually something we should all ask ourselves in general each day Jenifer... "Am I giving my all to my Savior?". Excellent question to start off the week!

Congratulations on the first post of the new ministry, and Have a Blessed Day!

  5. And a great thought it is! We kinda covered this tonight at bible study. I want to give Him my all and love the others around me with the excess that I have from the love He gives to me!

  7. I've never thought about it before...what if God took care of us the way we pray, read our Bible, go to church, pay our tithe...goodness. Dare I say He wouldn't be much of a God if He did. I am so thankful that He is better than we are. I am so thankful for His mercy & grace. I am so thankful that His standards are better than mine! Thank you for posting this today...it definitely struck a nerve with me!
