Can I Be Like Job?

The past couple of weeks my husband has been teaching the children in our church about Job.  Job went through so much.  He was tested in the worst way.  He lost everything....everything.  Yet he never blamed God.  He never turned from God. At one point his wife even questioned why he would keep praising God.

"His wife said to him, 'Are you still maintaining your integrity?  Curse God and die!'  He replied, 'You are talking like a foolish woman.  Shall we accept good from God and not trouble?'"  Job 2:9-10

Can we accept the good from God and not the trouble?

We will have bad things happen in our life.  That is pretty much a guarantee, but we should still praise God in the good and bad.  It's easy to praise Him when things are going good.  But when things God bad our praises tend to cease.

He is still God when bad things happen.  He is still by our side, He promises to never leave us nor forsake.  Let's continue to praise God in the good and in the bad!

The winner of the Revolution Worship cd is Ellen Stumbo!  Congrats Ellen.  Please email me at metzgersix@gmail.com.

Sweet Blessings~

Review:
Last night I had the pleasure of taking my family to a pre-screening of Arthur Christmas.  This was a cute 3d Christmas film about the awkward son of Santa.    I tend to root for the underdog which is what Arthur was.  The movie was cute and if you are looking for something for the kiddos, this would be it.

  1. Great encouragement Jenifer! Lifting praises to God is certainly easier when things are going well, but even in our trials God's still with us, and still deserves our praises!

    Have a Blessed Day!

  3. Great encouragement, Jenifer! God is worthy of our praise - in good times and bad.
I've seen the previews for that movie and it looks really cute. :)

  4. Great words! It is hard to praise him when things are hard: especially when you see no purpose coming out of the hard time. I recently begin actually 'thanking' God for the migraines that have put me out for days at a time for 25 years now. I still don't understand why but I choose to obey and thank.

  5. Hi Jenifer - I may not have been through stuff that others have gone through, but what I have gone through I can only say that without God I would not have coped. I say to myself, imagine going through this WITHOUT Him? Great reminder to praise continually
    God bless

  6. I am beginning to understand a little of how Job must have felt. I am now on day 7 of no voice again. It was just 7 short months ago that I got my voice back after 13 weeks! Now, it's gone again. Being a Children's Pastor I can't do my job with no voice. Being an office manager for my husband's business...I can't do my job! I can't communicate with my family. However, I will NOT forsake my God!

  7. Like Job, if we don't experience the bad stuff we will never realize how good God is at the end of our life. We always want the perseverance without the trial, don't we? Great encouragement!

  9. Job's faith wows me every time -- he simply never wavers. What a role model of faith and trust.

Thanks for linking up at Graceful earlier this week. Happy Thanksgiving!
