Integer Is a Whole - Fractions Are Parts

If you are good with math {I am not}, if you like math {I do not}, then you know something about fractions and whole numbers.  We know that fractions are a part of something, part of a whole.  And we know that whole numbers are integers, meaning whole, complete.

Integrity is the same way.  If we have integrity, we live as a whole.  We are the same person at church that we are at home, the grocery store or driving down the road.  Our personality and character do not change.  We are an integer, we are whole.

If we do not have integrity, we are a fraction.  We live one way at church (1/4), one way at home (1/4), one way here (1/4) and one way there (1/4).  We are not a whole.

The Bible tells us in James 1:8, "he is double-minded, unstable in all he does."  And Proverbs tells us in 11:3, "The integrity of the upright guides them, but the unfaithful are destroyed by their duplicity."

I want to live a life of integrity.  I want to be the same person at home that I am at church.  I want to live a life of worship at all times.  I want to be a Godly example at all times.  I want to please God whether I am on my knees at the altar at church, watching tv at home, driving behind a texting driver, or standing in line at the grocery store.  I want to please God with my wholeness, my integrity.

So let me ask you today, are you a fraction or an integer?

Sweet Blessings~

  3. Jenifer,

Thank you for explaining what an integer was, because I honestly had no clue :). The bible tells us that we must remain the same, whether people are watching or whether we are alone, I want to live my life for always.

    Blessings to you Jenifer.

Thank you for stopping by and leaving your thoughts, I love hearing from you.
