Taking Time Out For Him

This morning when I opened up Facebook, a friend had posted a status that had me saying, "Amen!  Preach it girl!"  This is something that God spoke to my heart a couple of years ago, and well, sometimes He still reminds me of it.

"To all moms out there who are stressed, tired, and feel like they are drowning. Getting up at 5 am to spend quiet time with God has truly helped me in more ways than I could begin to express on here..."

She goes on to offer that anyone struggling, message her as she would love to talk to them and encourage them.

I have said this time and again, getting up at 5am (or 5:30am, or 6am, or whatever time) and spending time with God may not change your circumstances.  However, friends, it does change your outlook.  It does prepare you for what is to come.  It does connect you with God on an intimate level.

Spending time with God each day does something else.  Something so important as a parent.  It shows our children the importance of having a real relationship with God.  It teaches them that we, as humans, can still come to the King of kings.  We are an example to our children, their teachers.  They look at us.  They see what we do and how we do it.  What are they seeing?  Are your children seeing you connect with God?

I will reiterate what my friend said.  Taking time out for God each day, starting your day in His presence, it will change your life.  If I can be of any help to you, please, please dear friends, comment below or email me.  I would love to talk to you and encourage you.

*Woman to Woman Ministries offers an accountability group for women who want to be encouraged to spend time with God every single day.  You can email me for more info.

Sweet Blessings~

  2. You are right, it does change your outlook. I definitely notice a difference in my attitude if I start the day off in the Word.

  3. Visiting from Life in Bloom - and glad I came by. This is so true - thanks for encouraging others about the importance of time alone with God. It can be the highlight of our day, and through it we grow in intimacy with God, which overflows to those around us.
