Tell It To Move!

Everywhere I look there are people facing mountains.  High, powerful mountains.  Mountains that seem utterly impossible to move.

These immovable mountains are hurting the hearts of many.

These mountains come in the form of financial problems for many.  Debt so big with no way to over come it.  We do our best to work hard, pay our tithe and offering, pay our debt, yet the debt piles up higher and higher and the income seems smaller and smaller.  This mountain is just too big.

For some these mountains are in the form of marital problems.  A spouse who is not saved.  A spouse unfaithful.  A spouse who does not seem to be in the relationship one hundred percent. This mountain is too much to fight.

Many face mountains in the form of addiction.  Addiction that grips on like a weed choking out a flower.  Addiction that is just too difficult to get rid of.

Mountains come in all shapes and all sizes.  They are mighty.  They are too tall.

But God...

Friend, God is bigger than any mountain you could possibly face.  He is bigger than that pile of bills and no income.  He is bigger than your marriage problems.  He is bigger than any addiction.  God is bigger.

Friend, it is only a mountain.  To us a mountain is a fixed thing.  It cannot move. It is there and that is it.  But God is bigger and God can move it.

Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed,
you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’
and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.
Matthew 17:20

Ask God to move this mountain and believe He will.  Then say, in faith, to this mountain "MOVE!"  You have the God who created the mountains and oceans on your side.  There is no reason to doubt that He will move the mountains in your life.  Tell it to move!

What mountains are you facing?  Are you ready to tell it move and trust that God will move it?

This song has been on my heart for the past few days.  As you listen begin to tell your mountain to move and believe it will.

  1. Amen, just a little faith can change it all! He will give us confidence in the waiting and courage to believe that He is for us with just that little bit of faith! Great song, I really like him, but hadn't heard this one yet.

  2. As I left a meeting, feeling defeated because of the high cost of something that I really wanted for my children and myself, this song came on the radio in my car. Ever since then, it has reminded me of the faith of a mustard seed. Thank you for reminding me again. I love this song, and I love the words that you were able to put along with it. It is only a mountain.

  3. Hi Jennifer. Enjoyed visiting from UBP13. We use to have a minister at our church who would say "Don't tell God how big your mountain is. Tell your mountain how big your God is." Thanks for the encouragement. I look forward to reading more along the way. Amy
