Holes or Whole?

Holes.  They hold us back.  They can be crippling.  We try to fill them with so many things.  And sometimes we are not filling them with "bad" things.  Maybe we dive into a ministry trying to fill a hole.  Maybe we commit to charity work trying to fill a hole.  No, not all fillers are bad.  But they are not truly filling us.

Fillers make me think of the old child's toy where you put different shapes inside the holes.  The things we use to attempt to fill the hole in our heart is like using the star shape to fill the circle.  It just doesn't work.  The circle hole was made for the circle, not the star.

Our heart was made to be full of Christ, not drugs, tv, alcohol, partying, ministry or even religion.  It was meant for Christ.

In her new book {W}hole, Lisa Whittle says, "The presence of God -not how well we can perform duties of religion- is what creates within us a spiritual vibrancy."  Have you ever seen someone who just has a glow or vibrancy about them?  Having those "holes" full of Christ gives that glow of true peace and true joy.  Only Christ can give that.  Only Christ can fill us.

Lisa also says, "God's design has always been that we would need Him to do that which we cannot."  We cannot fill the holes in our lives.  It is impossible to put that star where the circle goes.  God designed us to need Him.  That was His plan.

Friends, what are you using to fill the holes in your life?  Turn to Christ.  He is The Hole Filler.  The only one to make you truly whole.

Sweet Blessings~
