Joshua 24:15

"As for me and my house, we will serve the LORD." Joshua 24:15

Have you made the decision that you and your house will serve the Lord?  If so, what are you doing about it?  Are you allowing things into your home that are not Godly?  Are you teaching your children about spending time with God daily?

Today I want to encourage you to set aside time each and every day for family devotions.  If you are a busy family, like we are, start small.  At dinner time  or before bed, read a couple of scripture verses, take prayer requests and pray together.  Family devotions are very important for a house that chooses to serve the Lord.  Let your family's hunger for God grow!

Sweet Blessings~

  1. Great idea! We are going to start doing a family devotion. We pray before we eat but the devotion is something we will have to start. My house and I will serve the Lord!

  2. Thank you for this challenge. Life does get busy and usually throughout the week my son and I will pray together at bed time but we don't make time for much else. This is not the first time in the last week, I've been reminded that I need to become more intentional. Thanks.

  3. You are right. Even though out want to pull my hair or someone elses out by about bedtime...I need to get over it and pray more with my kids and have devotionals like we used to do! Thanks for this push in the right direction!!

  4. Very good point! Things won't happen just become we wish they would. If we want our family to serve the Lord, we must be intentional about it. Great challenge!

  6. When my children were small we read the bible together and prayed together, now they are grown with children of their own and they do the same with their children. I thank God for those precious moments that we spent together with Him. Good memories!

  8. Great reminder Jenifer! The more time we spend in thanks to God as a family, the closer we all become to each other as well.

    Have a Blessed Day!

  9. I really like the idea of taking prayer requests! I know what's happening in my kids lives and I pray for them, but to take the time to ask them what they'd like me to pray for... that I have not done! Great encouragement, thanks Jenifer!
