I Need God

The other night in my Bible study group we talked about something that touched me.  My sweet sister asked how many times throughout the day we say, "I need a drink," "I am craving this food," or "I need this or that."  Probably often.  Now, how many times in the day do we say, "I need God."

I need God far more than I need anything else in this life.  There is a song that says:
More than the air I breathe
More than the song I sing
More than the next heartbeat
More than anything

We need God more than anything else.  I don't want to go through my day 'wanting' or 'craving' anything above God.

What do you need, water, desire, and crave today?  Is it God?

Sweet Blessings~

  1. I love that song...
More than the air I breathe
More than the song I sing
    More than the next heartbeat
    More than anything
...that's how much I need God!

  2. Our bible study talked about this today too. If we thought about God as much as we thought about food (or whatever else) how much different would our days go. Nice post.

  3. This is something I'm really working on. Like Eileen said, I want to think about God more throughout the day. I need God and I want my life to reflect that.

  4. I too want my thoughts to be focused on God. So much of them are focused on my needs and wants, not Him

  5. When I think of all I need, desire and want I always reflect on the Giver of those things and find every time that He is ALL that I truly need. Great, thought provoking post!

  6. You hit the nail on the head, I know that I need God more than a drink, more than the air I breathe. I know what a wretched human being I am without Him. Thanks for this precious reminder.
And thanks so much for your sweet words on my blog today, you are a sweetie. I know we would be good friends if we lived near each other.
    Hugs, Cindy

  7. I find God in so much of my day Jenifer, and it's wonderful to know His Presence. Mind you, there's always room for more God! :-)

    Have a Blessed Day!
