Back on Track

We just came off of a three day weekend.  The unofficial start of summer.  Many had bbqs, all of the pools opened, picnics and other fun things with family and friends.  Having long weekends are great, but they can also throw things off balance a little.  It was hard getting up this morning after staying up late and sleeping in the rest of the weekend.  It was hard to get motivated.  But I want to get back on track.  I want to have a spiritual summer.

We talked several times about having a spiritual summer or a revival instead of becoming lazy.  Now that the summer has started, have you made your plans?  Will you be memorizing scripture, starting a prayer journal, having a summer Bible study?  What are you going to do to get closer to God?  By the time my kids start school in August, I want to be closer to God than I am now.  If you haven't made your plans yet, spend some time today praying about it.  Write it out.  Find an accountability partner.

I want us to encourage each other.  To stand up together.  So today, pray and make your plans.  Then figure out the first step and get started!

Sweet Blessings~

  1. I want a Spiritual summer! We have a special extended trip this summer and I want to use it to become closer to God...not further away, I'm praying now that I will find a place to dwell in His presence and a consistent time each day too. I'm praying that without the stress of school and everything else that I will be a better example to my children and a better wife to my husband. I'm praying that simplifying our life and getting back to basics won't just bless me and bring me closer to God, but that He would be glorified in a new and awesome way. I can't wait... this post just motivated me more!!!

  2. Not having kids our daily lives won't change much. But I have been moving more and more towards less time on line and more time in the Word. I expect summer to be rich with growth in Him.

  3. While work for me stays consistent, I've been working on a number of ways to deepen our relationships with God during the kid's summer break.

Thank you for the continued encouragement Jenifer!

    Have a Blessed Day!

  4. You are right girl...having a plan to grow in our love relationship with God should be top priority. We must be intentional this summer, otherwise we (especially me) will get lazy!:)

  5. Summer bible study starts the week I get back from the beach! I'll continue to memorize a scripture per week too!

  6. Boy has it been hard to get back on track! I will make a conscious effort to draw closer to God. Don't want to just drift through summer and my relationship with God.
