Jogging with God

God is always there.  He loves us and loves spending time with us.  I believe God reveals Himself to us each and every day.  The question is, are we aware of Him?

This week I started something new.  Something I enjoy doing but, honestly I am too lazy so it has taken me a very long time to get motivated to do it.  I went jogging.  I absolutely love to be in nature.  Outside when walking, jogging, or even just sitting there, I feel so very close to God.  I hear the birds, see the squirrels and watch the sun come up.  It is incredible how I can feel so close to God while outside.  Each day I have went jogging, I had already had my quiet time with God, yet I felt the need to continue conversing with Him.  I am so very thankful for that time that God and I have.

How has God revealed Himself to you this week?

Sweet Blessings~

  2. Hi Jenifer - what an excellent motivation to start jogging! I look for every excuse in the book, but to do it to spend time with God (and get fit at the same time), how can you lose?
    God bless
    Have a great weekend

  3. I'm doing the Bible in 90 days program and also teach Sunday School so every night (well not every night... I didn't last night) I ride my exercise bike and put my bible or my ss book on the controls and read while I ride. The time passes VERY quickly that way. I get exercise and get to be with God as well :) This is a great post and happy jogging.

  4. God has answered some longstanding prayers in totally amazing ways. He has been working in some family member lives and as a result has blessed us as well!!!

  6. Ahh, I miss my morning run with God. I replaced it with paddling a waveski for a few years, but that has been out of my reach too for too long.
Thanks for the reminder that I really need to find another way to get back to that wonderful time of being with God, every day!

  7. I love sspending time with God. I usually will sit out in the back in my favorite place, God and I talk. He listens to me and I listen to Him. It is the best place for me, I see nature, things He has given to us to enjoy. I see the birds and hear them sing, I see the squirrels run across the pasture, at times the deer come up. It is so precious to see the things the Lord has given to us to enjoy and to thank Him for. This is my special time with the Lord.

Blessings to you and love you.

  8. Better you than me (on the running part that is)! God reveals Himself to me everyday in His creation by sending us rain when we need it and today a much needed break from the 100 degree temps :)

  9. For obvious reasons, I don't run anymore but I love going to my local YMCA and lifting weights and riding my handcycle. There is something about the endorphins kicking in, listening to Christian music, and getting away from the world into my own little place. This is where 90% of my ideas for Bible Study and other things come from. And I think that's the key is getting away from the world and going to our own place and focusing on God and listening to what He says. It doesn't have to be exercising but just alone time just like when Jesus went away and prayed. The more you do it, the more you get out of it, just like running

  11. Hello, here from Michael Perkins' blog...

God revealed Himself to me in the form of a bird yesterday. I've got the account written up on my blog, Confirm The Work of Our Hands, if you are interested in reading it.

I've bookmarked your blog, and will definitely be back again!

  13. I have been going for long walks every morning and like you, I have already had my time with God, but I carry on a conversation with Him the whole time that I walk, too. I love the chance to be out in Nature!
