What Would Jesus Do?

Today I am posting a Marriage Monday over at Woman to Woman Ministries.  Please join me.

Is there someone you know who is hurting?

Do you know someone who has experienced a loss?

Has someone been fighting physical illness?

Is there someone you haven't seen in church for awhile?

Is there a co-worker or neighbor who seems to be down lately?

There are a lot of "someones" in this world who are hurting.  It may be physical, financial, emotional or even spiritual, but there is hurt.  Everywhere you turn there are hurting people.

What are you doing about it?

I know, I know.  You are busy.  You have a job and family and just cannot find the time, money or energy to do anything.  I get that.  Really I do.

"Therefore if you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from His love, if any common sharing in the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind.  Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit.  Rather, in humility value others above yourself, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of others." Philippians 2:1-4

The first and most important thing you should be doing is praying for them.  Daily lift them in prayer.  You may not know the details of their situation, you don't need to, but pray for them.  Send them a card.  You can get a box of cards for only a couple of dollars and a stamp is less than fifty cents.  That is inexpensive way to make a big impact.  Include a scripture and tell them you are praying for them.  Make a meal or dessert and take it to them.  Include an index card with a scripture.  Offer to take the kids for an evening to give them a break.  If there is a disabled or elderly person, help change light bulbs or batteries in the smoke detector.

There are so many hurting people and so many ways to help.

What Would Jesus Do...because that is what I want to do.

So let me ask, what are you doing today to be the hands and feet of Christ?

Sweet Blessings~

  2. Hi Jenifer - amen, great encouragement to go out there and do whatever you can to lighten the load, or encourage someone hurting who doesn't realize that Jesus is with them in their pain.
    God bless

  3. This is what we are suppose to do... Encourage each other and love one another! One of my friends randomly sends me little texts every now and then and it encourages me and makes me feel loved and noticed.... absolutely love that:)

  5. Hi Jenifer,
Thanks for the reminder, it is so easy to become completely caught up in our own dramas, and we forget about the neighbor or loved one who is hurting.
I will pray and take cookies to my neighbor who is hurting and look around to see what else I can do.
    Hugs, cindy
