God Is So Cool!

Have I ever said prayer works?  Have I ever said God provides?  Well, it does and He does!  Praise God!  In the past twelve hours I have heard of God providing in incredible ways.

A job lost only for the very next day God to place a better one in the unemployed's hands.

Down to twenty dollars for a week's worth of gas and groceries.  Something {or Someone, amen} told her to check her unemployment card from three years ago only to find three unemployment payments on it.

God is just so cool!  Can I get an amen!?

Friends, God is listening.  When you think your prayers are falling on deaf ears, think again.  God hears you.  He has a plan.  Trust.  Believe.  Be ready.

"'For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the Lord, 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans for hope and a future.'" Jeremiah 29:11

Review and giveaway:

We have all likely heard of the writings of Charles Dickens and Jane Austen.  I said heard of, because I know of them but had never read much by them.  Recently I was asked to review two new devotionals that are writings from Dickens and Austen.

I love things from the 1800s.  I am fascinated by that era.  I jokingly tell my husband that God put me in the wrong century. {smiles}  But he reminds me that with the weak stomach I have I probably couldn't handle some of the cooking methods of then, if you get my drift.  (As in chicken didn't come from the store, gulp!!)  So when asked to review these devotionals and actually be able to read some of Dickens and Austen, I was thrilled.

The devotions are short for those of us with little time, but they are powerful.  The devotions start out with excerpts from Dickens and Austen's famous writings and end with scripture and Bible truths.  I love that you can turn to these short yet timeless truths anytime.

It comes in a beautiful hard back with a ribbon book marker, something this book/old time loving girl truly enjoyed.

Today I am giving away to two winners a copy of both A Charles Dickens Devotional and A Jane Austen Devotional.  All you have to do comment on today's post.  For an extra entry, share the giveaway on Facebook, then come back and leave a separate comment telling me you shared.  The winner will be announced tomorrow.

  1. I love how God is an on-time God...all the time! I am amazed at how people will be used of Him, sometimes when they aren't even aware that He is using them to fulfill His will! Praise God for these two 'miracles.'

I would love to see, read, have these devotionals by Dickens & Austen!

    God bless,

  5. I'm trying to trust in God, but today I have a minor stumbling block. We are taking a minor hit financially for the next few months, when I was hoping the result would be an increase that would ease our burdens. I am trusting that I have something to learn from this.
Anyway, the books sound really fun!

  7. Indeed God is good!

I'm slightly familiar with Charles Dickens and Jane Austen's works, but wasn't aware of these devotionals.

I too often wonder what it would have been like to live in the 1800's, but I sure like my 21st century conveniences.

Blessings and thanks for linking up!
