Show Me The Father

I've been a fan of the Kendrick brothers and their movies since Flywheel came out in 2003! Since Flywheel, the brothers have created and produced Facing the Giants, Fireproof, Courageous, War Room, Overcomer, and their newest movie Show Me The Father.

Show Me The Father
is a documentary style movie providing a fresh perspective on the role a father has. The movie features a variety of amazing true stories and takes you on an inspiring and emotional journey. You will hear from the Kendrick brothers, Jim Daly, Dr. Tony Evans, and more as they openly share about fatherhood.

We all have fathers. Some of our experiences with fathers were wonderful, some painful. Some of us had very present and active fathers, some were neglected by their father. Whatever your situation is, Show Me The Father will invite you to think differently about how you view your earthly father, and how you personally relate to God.

We live in a society where the role of the father is seen as less than. When my kids were younger and would watch tv shows on channels like Disney and Nickelodeon, the fathers were portrayed as stupid. They didn't know anything. They couldn't speak for themselves. They couldn't handle the kids. They couldn't discipline. And they certainly weren't leaders in the home.

Kids watch these shows day in and day out and while they think they are being entertained, what is really happening is our kids are learning to see their own father as less than. Very few shows, none current that come to my mind, show a father as a leader to be respected and honored. No wonder some men are afraid to step up and be a leader!

The role of a father - and the role of a husband - is vital in the home. The role of a father figure to those who do not have a present father is vital. In Show Me The Father you will come away inspired. You will come away challenged to do better. Fathers will be challenged to do better and mothers will be challenged to honor the role of father.

Show Me The Father comes out in theaters Friday. I believe this is a must see movie for all. Not only men. Not only fathers. Not only parents. Everyone needs to see this movie.
