WEEKLY BLESSINGS {1.26.26}

There is an occasion for everything,
and a time for every activity under heaven:
a time to give birth and a time to die;
a time to plant and a time to uproot;
a time to kill and a time to heal;
a time to tear down and a time to build;
a time to weep and a time to laugh;
a time to mourn and a time to dance;
a time to throw stones and a time to gather stones;
a time to embrace and a time to avoid embracing;
a time to search and a time to count as lost;
a time to keep and a time to throw away;
a time to tear and a time to sew;
a time to be silent and a time to speak;
a time to love and a time to hate;
a time for war and a time for peace.
Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 CSB

This weekend all across the Midwest we had a winter storm. Temperatures below zero in some areas and snow accumulation. Many businesses were closed and many churches cancelled services or opted for online only services. My husband and I spent the days relaxing. We watched some of our favorite TV shows and movies, he worked on a model, I worked on a puzzle, we cooked, we napped.  For this homebody, it was so nice. As much as I love being home and being with my husband, I don't like the idea that I can't leave if I wanted to. As I watched the snow fall and wondered how long this would last, I remembered that it won't last forever. There is a time for everything. A time for the winter cold and snow, but right around the corner is spring. A time for us to mourn losses and grieve in pain, and a time to rejoice and dance. Just like the snow and -5° is temporary, so is our pain and chaos.

What is something you are thanking God for today?

Continuing to count God's sweet blessings...

4050. Time with our youngest grandson.

4051. Our warm home during the winter storm.

4052. Time spent with my husband.

4053. Watching our son grow in God and heal while facing a very difficult time.

4054. Sunshine despite the cold.

It's your turn! Share something you are praising God for. I would love to rejoice with you.
