This weekend my husband and I did some much needed yard work. As I cleared out weeds from the rose bush and saw the trees blowing and the clouds floating by, I was reminded that God has creates all of this big, beautiful world for us. Everything created is by Him and it was created to bring Him glory.

Our church's annual VBS began last night. It is equally a wonderful and exhausting week. It's three hours of intense action for four nights straight; not counting the prep work, set up, and clean up each day. It's late nights (which is very hard when my husband and I wake up by 4am!). Yes, VBS week is exhausting. Yet, it is also so wonderful. To see 150 kids have a blast and learn about Jesus is incredible. To get to do Kingdom work is a blessing.

Yesterday we celebrated Father's Day, honoring the fathers and father figures in our lives. I've always felt blessed by the men in my life. First I had a wonderful dad and Papa. Then I married a wonderful man who is an amazing dad to our kids and now Poppa to our grandbabies. And now I have three sons who are wonderful dads to my grandbabies.

But mostly, I am so thankful for my Heavenly Father. A Father who loves me so much He sent His Son to die and rise again for me. A Father who loves me unconditionally, but also loves me too much to let me remain the same. As we close out Father's Day for 2025, reflect on the goodness of our Heavenly Father.

I've had some things thrown my way recently that have knocked me off kilter. Things that threatened my peace. And when the pain or chaos come, God brings Isaiah 40:31 to mind. If I trust in Him, He will renew my strength. No matter what happens, no matter what comes our way, we can trust in God and know He is there.

3896. Going to a baseball game with my husband and kids. We haven't been to our local MLB to watch a game for a couple of years and I've really been wanting to go. So for Mother's Day my husband bought our family tickets. It was so much fun and so great to have this time with our kids.

This verse in Psalm 51 is my daily prayer. Create in me a clean heart and renew a right spirit within me. I am so thankful that God desires to forgive us of our sins. That He desires to give us a clean heart and renewed spirit. I know I need it daily.

Yesterday we celebrated Mother's Day by honoring the women in our lives. I am so thankful for my mom, Mamaw, mother-in-law, sisters, daughters, granddaughter, and nieces. Some no longer with us and some not yet mothers. But all wonderful women, women who have influence in my life on some level.

We have influence in lives all around us. Whether it is the ones in our home, at our jobs, at our church, in our communities, or wherever. We need to makes sure our influence is one that points others to Christ. One that shows love and kindness. One that is quick to forgive and even quicker to ask forgiveness.

God is so good! His faithful love follows us and has no bounds.  There is nothing so awful we could ever do that would make Him love us any less than He does. Likewise, there is nothing so wonderful we could ever do that would make Him love us any more than He does. His love for us is so real and so deep. That is worth shouting triumphantly to the Lord!

My husband works a construction job. It's been a great career and has taken good care of our family. But as with any construction job, weather plays a big part. This winter was a long, hard winter here in the Midwest. We had record lows, snow storms, and ice storms; some so bad the city even closed down. That crazy weather affects construction workers. While we were doing okay, we had less money coming in than normal. My husband and I prayed that God would provide for that deficit. And He did. Just not quite in the way we had thought. With weather shaping up for spring, my husband's current job site was needing to get caught up so his company decided they were going to work extra hours. He normally does not work any overtime at this company. So an extra twenty hours a week was a huge blessing, though it wore him out greatly.

This reminded us that God always provides for our needs. It may not be how we think, or even how we would hope, but He will provide what we need. I am so thankful for God's provision and for Him sustaining my husband through those weeks of extra work.

The Lord is faithful and I see it time and time again. Lately I have been asking God to show me His faithfulness and His goodness and He certainly has. As I was driving to church early Sunday morning, the sun was just beginning to make her appearance. As she did, God reminded me that this same sun shows herself every single morning without fail. He does that. When we can count on nothing and no one else, we can count on God to bring the sun up each day. That is His faithfulness.
