For many, this verse seems like a pass to getting absolutely whatever we want. Like if God were a genie in a bottle. But the truth is, when we are truly delighting in the Lord, our desires become His desires. No longer does a big screen tv seem to be the desire of our heart, but seeing our neighbor saved is. No longer does a brand new boat seem to be the desire of our heart, but blessing strangers is.Take delight in the Lord. Let your desires form into what He wants. His desires are far more rewarding than anything we could want.

This verse is the first thing that came into my mind when I thought of the word Delight too! Great thoughts!

Delighting in Him is when His desires become our desires. Definitely a truth I learn a little more each day.

ReplyDeleteA most excellent post! When yu delight in the Lord and desire to follow His path, a lot of your worldly desires seem to melt away. In fact, when you look back at some of your past "wants," you just shake your head. Being in communion with the Lord changes you within, so you can do without. Blessings! Glad to have found you!
