WHY I USE A PLANNER & MY TOP THREE FAVORITE PLANNERS

Whatever you do, do it from the heart,
as something done for the Lord and not for people.
Colossians 3:23

Everything we do, we should do as though doing it for the Lord. This includes managing our homes, families, and lives. I want to lead my family well as for the Lord. In order to do so, I need to be organized. This is why I intentionally and faithfully use a planner.

Throughout the years I've tried many different planners and today I want to share my top three favorites.

#3: Homemaker's Friend Daily Planner is a great planner. With it's compact size of 5.5" x 8.5" it is easy to carry and it has a monthly view, weekly view, information section, project section, and perforated shopping lists. The Homemaker's Friend Daily Planner is only $14.99, making it a great choice if you are on a budget.

#2: Dayspring's Agenda Planner, 7"x9", is an eighteen-month planner. It runs from July to December of the following year. So the 2019 planner began July 2018 and will run until December 2019. There is a monthly view and a weekly view as well as stickers to give your planner some pop. You can choose between five different covers and it costs $29.99.

#1: The Simplified Planner by Emily Ley comes in two editions, daily and weekly, which come in six cover options. This planner has prep work at the beginning to help you plan your year. You will think about what worked and didn't work in previous years, discover bucket list items, and come up with routines. The weekly edition, 6"x8", has a monthly view and a weekly view and is $48, and the daily, 7"x9", edition has a monthly view and a daily view, and is $58. The Simplified Planner is a bit more pricey, but well worth every penny! This is a high quality planner made with the best paper so that your pens and highlighters will not bleed through and the cover is tough and will withstand your busy year.

Another thing I absolutely love about Simplified Planner is all of the matching accessories you can get! Simplified offers mini notebooks, page markers, pens, and other fun stuff to match their planners. I am totally a matchy-matchy girl and love that I can have a full set of matching planner and accessories.

HOMEMAKER'S FRIEND PLANNER

Staying organized is important to me and in order to stay organized, I use a planner, two planners in fact. The Homemaker's Friend Planner is one of my favorites. This planner sits on my kitchen counter 365 days a year. My husband and kids can look at the planner and see everything we have planned for the day, week, month, and even year. They can also see what is on the menu for dinner. With the kitchen being the hub of the home, I love that I can glance over at any time and see what is on the schedule for my day.

The Homemaker’s Friend Daily Planner is spiraled and is divided into seven tabbed sections:
Weekly Layout
· Two-page spread with entries for each day
· Menu planning and to-do list
Monthly Calendar
· Two-page month view
Year Calendars
· 2018 and 2019 calendars with place for notations
Shopping List
· Perforated shopping list
Task List and Project; Events Sections
· Untitled pages for you to customize for your own duties and ideas
Information
· Short-term information that is relevant to 2018

This planner is such a great option to keep your family organized. For only $14.99 you get the planner and menu planning worksheets to download immediately. Want to order extra for Christmas gifts? Order 3 or more $14.49 each, 5 or more $13.99 each, 10 or more $12.99 each, and 20 or more $11.99 each.

Out With The Old...In With The New

I love the convenience of technology! I use a family planner app that let's all of my people see what is going on and it sends us alerts. It's great! But the truth is, I am totally a paper girl! I much prefer to read actual books instead of reading on the computer or a tablet and I much prefer my paper planner to anything else. I need to be able to not just see, but touch!

My favorite planner is the Homemaker's Friend. I have been using Sue's planner for 4 or 5 years now and it works great for me. It has everything I need to keep my family organized. I keep my planner on our kitchen counter for everyone to see and it is convenient to grab on the go.

So what do I like so much about this planner? My favorite thing is the different views. You can view the whole year at a time to see big upcoming events, view a month at a time to see what is going on, or view a week at a time for all of the details. The weekly view is the one I keep open on my kitchen counter. It gives my family details as well as shows the menu for the week. No more asking me fifteen times a day "What's for dinner?"!

Also in the Homemaker's Friend, you have sections for tasks, projects, notes, an address book, and the shopping list. I love the shopping list section! These little perforated slips of paper are perfect for jotting down things you need at the store.

I also love the splashes of Scripture and encouragement throughout the planner.

I use felt tip makers in my planner. They do not bleed through, allow for bold and easy to read writing and add the splash of color I love so much. For fun, I use a lot of my Illustrated Faith kit goodies in my planner!

The Homemaker's Friend is 5.5" x 5.8". If you are like me and use a big purse or bag, it will fit great! The 2017 planner starts December 1st, so now is a great time to order yours and get started getting organized for the holidays and the new year.

For only  $14.99 you can get the 2017 planner and plus meal planning worksheets to download and print off for free. Have friends or family you know could benefit from the Homemaker's Friend? It would make a great gift or just get together with your friends and order together, the more you buy, the cheaper it is. 3 or more is $14.49 each, 5 or more is $13.99 each, 10 or more is $12.99 each and 22 or more is only $11.99 each!
