THE STORY OF EVERYTHING {GIVEAWAY}

Do you like documentaries? Do you enjoy learning about the Bible and creation? I want to share a new documentary, The Story of Everything, that you will enjoy.

Inspired by Stephen C. Meyer’s bestselling book Return of the God Hypothesis, the new cinematic documentary invites us to explore one of humanity’s oldest questions: Does the evidence point to a universe shaped solely by blind chance, or is there evidence of purpose and design?

The Story of Everything reveals the hand of God behind our universe. From the precise laws that govern the stars to the intricate patterns found in every living cell, we see evidence of intentional design all throughout nature.

This documentary was interesting and I love seeing how science really does point to God. To check out The Story of Everything on Prime Video, click HERE.

CORD OF THREE STRANDS | PART 2

Last week we talked about keeping the third strand, God, in the braid of your marriage. We talked about how God as the third strand is vital to the marriage, even life saving. But how can we add Him?

How can you add God in your braid?

Pray. Pray every single day for your marriage. Pray that God would help you to be the wife He has called you to be. Pray that God would help your husband to be the husband He has called him to be. Pray that you and your husband would place God at the center and seek Him in all ways. Pray on your own. Pray together. Ask your husband to pray for you. Ask your husband how you can pray for him. Pray, pray and pray some more.

THE SACRED THREAD {GIVEAWAY}

Our Father in heaven,
Your name be honored as holy.
Your kingdom come.
Your will be done
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
And do not bring us into temptation,
but deliver us from the evil one.
Matthew 6:9-13 CSB

The Lord's Prayer. Many know the words, yet few understand the world, language, and meaning behind it. The Sacred Thread, a new mini docuseries on streaming on Angel, is taking us into the historical and cultural context of Scripture as we experience the Lord’s Prayer the way Jesus’ original audience would have heard it.

This is a cinematic journey that takes us through the land, history, language, and deeper meaning of one of the most important prayers ever spoken. The Sacred Thread is informational and powerful and brings the Scriptures to life in a powerful way.

This docuseries would make a wonderful study personally, for a couple or family, and even for your church or Bible study group.

JUST ONE MORE {GIVEAWAY}

Addiction is something many of us won't understand unless it touches us in some way. We often think, just stop. Just quit doing it. Think of your family. Think of what you're doing. Just quit! But it isn't that easy. Addiction is a disease that needs real help. Addiction is a battle that needs Jesus.

Addicts aren't thinking of the future or loved ones. The disease binds them and has them only thinking of just one more. One more fix. One more high. One more drink. One more time. And our enemy loves every second of it. He loves watching the battle that rages within. He loves watching an addict slide into this out of mind state. He loves watching the loved ones sit back in anguish as they feel lost as to how to help.

In the new Angel Guild movie, Just One More, we watch as Jess battles an opioid addiction. We see her withdraws and her pain. We see her grow and fall. And we see her come across a dying man whose deepest desire is to see just one more come to Jesus before he passes away.

Charles positions himself outside of his home day after day with one intent: pray for anyone willing to let him. At first Jess doesn't want his prayers, but slowly she opens up to the idea of Jesus. But that doesn't mean her addiction immediately fades away.

Just One More is a beautiful movie. I love how it shows the dark side of addiction that so many don't understand, but how it also shows the power of prayer, community, and love. I highly recommend this movie. You can stream Just One More now on Angel and support stories that actually inspire. To watch Just One More, click HERE.

CORD OF THREE STRANDS | PART 1

Has your marriage been hard lately? Does if feel like you and your husband are being attacked on every end? Do you wonder if the two of you are even going to make it? Friend, marriage is hard period, but the enemy is after your marriage. The enemy is working double time to attack marriages, especially Christian marriages.

When we enter into marriage, there are three parts: you, your husband, and God. As you marry, these three parts become closely braided together. But when marriage gets hard, we have to pause and ask ourselves one very important question; has the third strand been pulled out?

And if someone overpowers one
person, two can resist him. A cord
of three strands is not easily broken.
Ecclesiastes 4:12 CSB

OUR PART, THEN HIS

And My people, who bear My
name, humble themselves, pray
and seek My face, and turn from
their evil ways, then I will hear
from heaven, forgive their sin

We must:
•bear His name
•humble ourselves
•pray
•seek His face
•turn from evil

After we do those things, then He will:

NKJV NEW TESTAMENT BIBLE, TRACING EDITION {GIVEAWAY}

All Scripture is inspired by God and
is profitable for teaching, for rebuking,
for correcting, for training in righteousness,
so that the man of God may be complete,
equipped for every good work.
2 Timothy 3:16-17 CSB

God's Word, the Bible, is powerful. It is our way of getting to know the Father and learning of His way and plan and all He has for us. His Word is never changing, yet is alive and we can learn something brand new every time we read the pages no matter what season we are in or how many times we've read it.

Studies have proven time and time again that when we write things down in our own handwriting, we comprehend and remember more. This is especially true when writing the Word of God; there is something so powerful about writing out the Bible. This is why I love Write the Word journals so much.

The brand new NKJV New Testament Bible, Tracing Edition is an incredible new Bible that uses this theory and it is incredible. This special Bible edition has the words of the Bible printed lightly so that you can trace each word!

You could trace each word as you read through, trace as the verses speak to your heart, or however you'd like. Any way you do it, as you trace through the words of the Bible, you are literally writing God's Word out in your handwriting which, as we said, helps with comprehension and retention.

There are twelve topical reading plans and tracing themes that cover things like love, hope, grace, comfort, and faith to give you a meaningful way to explore the New Testament.

The NKJV New Testament Bible, Tracing Edition comes in two cover options, the gray linen hardcover and the brown leather hardcover. This Bible would make a great gift! Pair it with a beautiful pen or color pencil set and you have a lovely gift that anyone will enjoy.

FAMILIARITY VS OBEDIENCE

But if it doesn’t please you to worship the Lord,
choose for yourselves today: Which will you
worship—the gods your ancestors worshiped
beyond the Euphrates River or the gods of the
Amorites in whose land you are living? As for
me and my family, we will worship the Lord.
Joshua 24:15 CSB

Recently my husband had his glasses on his head while working on something and in frustration, he tossed his head back and the glasses landed lens down on the concrete. When we grabbed them to check the damage, hoping there was nothing there, there was the tiniest dot on each lens. Not a scratch or crack. A tiny dot. He immediately said he was done with the glasses, he just couldn't handle the dot in his vision. I laughed, "Haven't you seen my glasses!?" My glasses are so scratched up and scuffed up that it's actually ridiculous. And after taking a bad fall last year, the frames are slightly bent so they press into my head on one side.

After a few days of refusing to wear his glasses, yet not being able to see, we went to the eye doctor and ordered him a new pair. My husband asked me why I wasn't ordering glasses too, since my glasses are such a mess. I told him that I was good, I didn't need any.

WHEN YOU FEEL UNMOTIVATED

There are days I am productive. I wake up early, get ready, have my time with God, and then I get busy with super speed taking care of everything in my home. The laundry is washed, dried, folded, and put away. The dishes are done. There is not speck of dust in the house and the vacuum lines are perfect. My blog posts and social media posts are scheduled in advance. I end the night exhausted but feeling good about all I accomplished.

Then, there are days I am unmotivated. I struggle to get out of bed and I am slow to get ready. After my morning routine and spending time with God, I feel like I need a couch break. After far too long of reading or scrolling through Instagram, I toss a load of laundry in and pick up the house a little. Only to feel the magnetic pull of the couch once again. This little back and forth continues all day long. I go to bed feeling as though nothing was accomplished.

Can you relate?

WHEN MOTHER'S DAY IS HARD

Mother's Day is only days away. For many women, they are looking forward to the day. A time with their loved ones. A day of being showered with love and appreciation. Yet for others, they are dreading the day. It's a day of painful reminders.

The truth is, Mother's Day isn't an easy day for every woman. It's a time when she grieves the loss of her own mother deeply. It's a time when she grieves the loss of her child. A time when she mourns a barren womb. A time when she is reminded of the brokenness in her family. Yes, Mother's Day can be a painful day.

If you are in the category of dreading Mother's Day, friend, I am so sorry. My heart aches with you. Here are a few ways to help you cope with the day:

HE CALLS YOU BY NAME

Sometimes when reading through Scripture, I like to put my name into the verses. Putting our own names into the verses helps us feel that personalized connection with Scripture and helps our brain see that the words were meant for us; that the Bible isn't distant but meant yet it is for us.

He Calls You By Name is a personalized devotional experience that weaves your own name throughout Scripture. You get to choose your devotional, then personalize it with your name -or the name of someone you are gifting the devotional to.

I love this precious little book. Seeing a new Scripture every day with my name touches my heart. Verses like:

The peace of God, which surpasses all understanding,
will guard Jenifer's heart and mind in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:7

Though Jenifer walks in the midst of trouble, the
Lord will revive her; He will stretch out His hand
against the anger of his enemies, and His right
hand will save her.
Psalm 138:7

This would make a wonderful gift for a graduate, for Mother's Day, or for those June weddings (they have a couples option). It would also be great to gift to someone who deals with anxiety or stress, they can put it at their bedside and see the words and promises of God meant for them.

These reminders of how personal God's Word is for each and every one of us are incredible. You can find out more about He Calls You By Name by clicking HERE.
